  • To be a good recording studio singer, one needs to develop good his ears as well. The ears are responsible for pitch accuracy and can tell you if you are going too high or low. Plus as a recording studio singer, many a times producers expect you to become the vocal arranger as well as dictate your own musical notes that you have to sing, if you don't have the ear for it, you can't succeed in the task.
  • You have to have a good memory or at least a good ear again as you will be expected to hear a rough demo of the music you need to sing to and can only hear it or read the notes a couple of times, hence you have to be really good in the brain power section to be a successful recording studio singer.
  • It is imperative to have a professional attitude when invited to sing in a recording studio. Be on time, or even be early, it will add to your benefit, people who work in the orchestra are always early, tuning their instruments and reading their notes. Also, if you have a CD of your work, keep it with you just in case but don't brag about it as it might be the last time you might enter a studio. Also, never be ashamed of your inexperience, people are usually keener to help out newcomers, so add it in your advantages.
  • Being a team player is a very important aspect of recording studio singers, mostly you will have to work with other singers, some of whom you may have never met before, it is important that you get on well with everyone and not be a trouble maker or seeker. Learn up all the parts of the song if possible as sometimes you may be asked to sing someone else's piece and if you know most of the parts you will be viewed as an important asset and be called again for future assignments. In case someone is going off-key, don't be the one to point it out, snitches are never popular or liked, leave it to the manager or assistant to point out the mistakes.
  • Learn how to use a microphone from before, some syllables are tricky and can cause minor explosions of sound like p's, s's and f's come out a bit funny, so know how to sing into a microphone and remember to back off on high notes.
